One and a half years ago Group of companies IEK® became the founding partner of the competence “Electrical installation work” — the program JuniorSkills of an early vocational guidance of schoolchildren, aged 10 to 17 years. Group of companies IEK has supported the development of professional skills of electricians and can be considered as an expert in creating a system of career guidance and continuing education of the new sample. Almost three years ago, it became the first and most active partner of WorldSkills Russia, and is now involved in development and audit assignments, conducts certification of regional training centres. The program was initiated in 2014 by Oleg Deripaska’s Fund “Volnoe Delo”, with support of the Agency for strategic initiatives, Ministry of education and science of the Russian Federation, Ministry of industry and trade of the Russian Federation. The goal of the program is to help children choose their future occupation, to give specific skills of working professions and, potentially, to educate highly qualified workers.

Despite the short period of development the competence “Electrical work” has reached an international status and the first results indicate that the direction was chosen right. It is a Russian student from Khabarovsk Andrew Shpadaruk who became the silver medalist of the championship WorldSkills Hi-Tech 2015 for juniors aged 14+ and the winner of the Regional championship of Khabarovsk region in 2016. In 2016, the city of Kandalaksha in Murmansk region hosted two WorldSkills championships where children have proven that they can assemble the circuit start-reverse motor in 1 hour and 20 minutes. At the moment 6 children from 36 participants of the program JuniorSkills in Murmansk region have chosen the profession of an electrician and applied for admission to the College.

In December 2016 at EuroSkills 2016, which was held in Gothenburg, Switzerland, Russia presented “live” the program JuniorSkills for the first time at an international level. The first presentation was attended by young electricians from Novosibirsk, collecting competitive schemes for electrotechnical equipment IEK®.

The IEK experts helped in professional development of many future electricians. The work with young talents, which allows to improve themselves, to grow in their chosen profession — it is a priority area for any modern manufacturer. Group of companies IEK® helps children not only to learn the basics of an important profession, but also to find their way in life.
