In a modular system, power modules work in parallel. If one of them fails, its load is instantly taken over by the working modules. This is called the N+1 redundancy concept (where N is the number of modules required to power the load, and +1 is the backup). The system continues to operate without interruption, and an indicator lights up on the control panel, pointing to the faulty module. It can be replaced in a matter of minutes.
