IEK has a great variety of wiring accessories, and each series has its own features. Today we will tell you about one of the 2024 novelties – FORS sockets and switches, designed for operation in harsh conditions.
Application
An important difference of FORS wiring accessories from other series is enhanced protection against external influences. They are intended for rooms with high humidity and contamination: garages, workshops, storage and utility rooms.
FORS wiring accessories can also be used in industrial premises where special strength and sealing of sockets and switches are required.
Design features
A cover, as well as shutters on the outlets, protect the socket from moisture and dust ingress. Such a solution protects not only the socket design but also the person – from electric shock. Of course, there is a grounding contact: this is a mandatory requirement for sockets installed in places with high humidity.
FORS wiring accessory housings are made of impact-resistant material that withstands high mechanical loads. The operating resource of sockets is at least 50,000 cycles, and of switches – at least 40,000 on/off cycles.
Assortment
FORS sockets are manufactured in two types: single and double. This is quite sufficient for the entire range of tasks. The rated current of the sockets is 16 A.
FORS switches are represented by three different designs:
- Intermediate switches. Available in single-key design with and without illumination. This is a universal device that can be used both as an intermediate switch and as a regular switch.
- Two-key switch. Such a design allows implementing a circuit for switching two light sources or a luminaire with two groups of lamps.
- Push-button switch. This is a switch without latching, which can be used with impulse relays, various automation, as well as as part of a "smart home."
The rated current of FORS switches is 10 A.
Until recently, the FORS line included sockets and switches only in gray color. This year, devices in white color appeared in the assortment. Expanding the assortment will allow selecting an optimal solution with FORS wiring accessories.
