IEK GROUP and the Association "Electrocable" (AEC) signed a cooperation agreement in the field of professional training of specialists for the cable and electrical industry. The agreement was signed by Natalia Belskaya, Director of Human Resources at IEK GROUP, and Alexander Gusev, Director of Information Policy at the Association "Electrocable".
The cooperation will be aimed at developing blue-collar professions, attracting youth to the industry, improving the quality of training in educational institutions. Joint work on standardizing the assessment of specialist competencies and qualifications is also planned.
In recent years, both the electrical and cable industries have faced a serious personnel shortage: business needs are met on average by 50%. The lack of personnel is related to the demographic trough in Russia, as well as the low prestige of blue-collar professions: talented youth prefer to go into IT, sales, marketing. Another problem is the disconnect between training programs and real business needs.
For example, when training specialists for the cable industry, training programs do not consider the specifics of cables: types of metals and alloys, marking, areas of application of different types of cables and wires, etc. As a result, graduates have to be retrained already at the production site. In the coming years, the personnel shortage will only worsen, so major market players are getting involved in the process of developing specialists working in the electrical and cable industries.
"IEK GROUP has successful experience in facilitating the improvement of specialist qualifications. For example, we introduced the discipline 'Digital Installation' into the secondary vocational education system, develop competency centers on the basis of colleges. The introduction of the new international BRICS standard, developed jointly with BRICS countries with the participation of our company's specialists, also contributed to strengthening the professional education system. Cooperation with AEC is another step that will allow developing standards for assessing skills and specialist qualifications, strengthening the professional education system, attracting youth to the industry," says Natalia Belskaya, Director of Human Resources at IEK GROUP.
"The agreement between IEK GROUP and AEC aligns with the association's strategy in personnel matters. First and foremost, it is aimed at combining resources in the field of training, retraining, and professional development of specialists working in the cable and electrical industries. Thus, large-scale joint work is planned: development of educational programs, implementation of research centers, holding events aimed at popularizing cable and electrical installation specialties," adds Alexander Gusev, Director of Information Policy at the Association "Electrocable".
