The interregional semifinal of the IEK Electricians Championship — 2025 took place in St. Petersburg at the Center for Engineering Competences of the College of Production Automation. 323 specialists from 21 Russian regions applied to participate, and only the 16 best received an invitation to the Northern capital.
Girls continue to conquer our Championship — there were three female electricians at the St. Petersburg semifinal. Two of them are familiar to us from last year's Championship — Maria Aedonitskaya and Daria Bashkirova, but there was also a debutante — Elizaveta Selyutina.
Another interesting semifinal participant — Vitaly Osinovsky, a multiple winner and prize-winner of IEK Electricians Championships in previous years. Achievements in competitions could both help and hinder: expectations from renowned participants are much higher than from newcomers.
According to 2025 rules, competitions are held in two leagues: "Professionals" and "Juniors". The competition task for both categories was the same: assembling and programming a lighting control panel. This is a challenge even for experienced electricians: the task is voluminous and versatile, and any mistake can affect the functionality of the entire system.
"For the college, becoming a platform for the Electricians Championship semifinal is a great achievement! It's important that the program includes career guidance. Seeing professionals in action and attending electrical installation master classes will be possible for St. Petersburg school students and technical specialty students of the college," comments Nikita Andreevich Zlatin, Director of the College of Production Automation.
The semifinal concluded with the traditional "Roast", where practicing electricians asked an IEK specialist all their accumulated questions about the TITAN 5 plastic enclosures.
