IEK GROUP CEO Andrey Zabelin in an interview with the Kommersant newspaper talked about how modern systems for monitoring, accounting, and data collection help reduce electricity consumption at enterprises.
IEK GROUP has long been involved in this issue and has its own technological solutions. For controlling electricity consumption, an automated electricity metering system (АСКУЭ) is used. Combined with automation and dispatching systems built on MasterSCADA software and the industrial internet of things, the company's solution allows for real-time data collection on electricity consumers.
"I can give an example from practice: not long ago, our specialists, together with partners, installed a comprehensive energy consumption metering system based on АСКУЭ at one of the resource-intensive productions in the nuclear industry. The system allowed for planning energy consumption and using production capacities more efficiently, reducing electricity costs by 20% through the use of different tariffs. Considering the scale of the enterprise, this is a significant indicator," said Andrey Zabelin.
The CEO of IEK GROUP also noted that the automation process is currently hindered by several factors. These include a shortage of qualified engineering personnel and imperfect automation equipment. These problems can be solved within 1-3 years: Russian manufacturers, including IEK GROUP, are actively developing their comprehensive solutions. The company also actively participates in the process of forming a new personnel market. The IEK GROUP Academy has opened a number of educational programs in industrial automation. And at the Open Electricians Championship, which will be held for the eighth time next year, professionals compete in equipment installation and SCADA system management.
