IEK GROUP has taken a male African penguin under its guardianship at the Moscow Zoo. The company has been cooperating with the zoo for the third year: previously, it was the guardian of an alpaca and a European fallow deer.
Guardianship of an animal at the Moscow Zoo helps fulfill its main task of preserving the planet's biodiversity.
"As a socially responsible company, we care about the world around us. We are only taking our first steps in this direction, and guardianship of an animal is one of them. By caring for the well-being of a zoo inhabitant, we draw attention to environmental conservation issues," says IEK GROUP HR Director Natalia Belskaya.
In addition to participating in the Moscow Zoo guardianship program, IEK GROUP has been implementing a project for the automation and digitalization of HR document flow for several years, which saves paper and, consequently, protects trees. For the same purpose — preserving green spaces — the company holds tree-planting campaigns. For example, last year, an environmental campaign called "Clean and Bright City" was held in several regions where the company operates. IEK GROUP employees planted trees and shrubs in residential complexes in several Russian cities.
Company representatives participated in cleaning beaches in Anapa from oil spills after tanker accidents. With funds allocated by the company, a volunteer headquarters was equipped: shelves, garbage bins, dishes, small kitchen equipment, personal protective equipment, and food products were purchased.
IEK GROUP also has a program for collecting unwanted items. It helps achieve two goals: provide assistance to people in difficult situations and reduce the amount of waste polluting the environment.
