The "Kontaktor" plant, part of IEK GROUP's structure, and the Ulyanovsk region have signed an agreement on the implementation of a large-scale investment project to organize electrical equipment production in the region. The document was signed during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum by the region's Governor Alexey Russkikh, Head of the Ulyanovsk Region Development Corporation Alina Abitova, and General Director of JSC "Kontaktor" Mikhail Gorbachev.
2 billion rubles are planned to be invested in the project. The launch of production will create up to 300 new jobs in the region.
The new site will be located on the territory of the future special economic zone (SEZ) of industrial-production type. Currently, the region's Development Corporation is preparing an application to create an SEZ based on the "Zavolzhye" industrial park and plans comprehensive support for the future production project, including organizational support, consultations, and informational assistance.
Mikhail Gorbachev, General Director of JSC "Kontaktor":
"This project is an important step in the development of domestic production of electrical equipment, which will not only strengthen the position of the Ulyanovsk region as an industrial center but also make a significant contribution to the import substitution process. For us, this is an opportunity to expand the line of high-tech solutions and scale high-quality product offerings for customers. We are grateful to the regional leadership for their support and are confident that our joint work will become a driver of growth for the entire industry."
Alexey Russkikh, Governor of the Ulyanovsk Region:
"The launch of the project acquires special significance in the context of import substitution processes, which are one of the priorities of state economic policy today. The creation of domestic production of electrical equipment will reduce dependence on foreign supplies, improve the quality and availability of equipment for industry and infrastructure facilities."
JSC "Kontaktor" is part of the structure of IEK GROUP, one of the leaders in the Russian market of high-tech electrical equipment and industrial automation. The launch of new production will be a continuation of the company's strategy to create high-tech complex solutions for customers in various industries, localize products, and modernize production processes. The large project in the region will also contribute to the continuation of the import substitution process in the industry.
