The second solar power plant of the company NEOSUN, part of IEK GROUP, has started operating at the branch of the National Research University "Moscow Power Engineering Institute" (NRU "MPEI") in the city of Volzhsky, Volgograd Region. The electricity generated by the station will go to meet the needs of the student campus and also to the city grid.
The NRU "MPEI" branch in Volzhsky was opened in 1995. The institute trains specialists for the energy sector of the South of Russia and is a key partner for specialized enterprises in the Volgograd region in shaping personnel policy. Symbolically, the solar power plant appeared in the year of the 30th anniversary of the MPEI branch in Volzhsky and the 95th anniversary of NRU "MPEI".
The solar power plant became part of a large leisure art project, including areas for chess, table tennis. The installed capacity of the station is 35 kW with TOPCon photovoltaic modules and a DEYE grid inverter. Forecast generation is 45 MWh per year, reduction of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere is 24 tons.
The implementation of this project allows effectively solving a set of tasks: optimizing electricity costs, reducing peak loads, supporting sustainable development and responsible resource consumption. Furthermore, the use of a solar station from NEOSUN demonstrates NRU "MPEI"'s commitment to innovative leadership and technology development in the field of renewable energy.
