On February 13, the first semifinal of the "Open Electricians Championship IEK — 2025" took place in Samara. 555 professionals from 39 regions of Russia applied to participate, but only 16 of them made it to the best. Samara hosts the Electricians Championship for the second year in a row; the competitions were included in the list of career guidance events of the region.
This year, participants of the qualifying round were evaluated for the first time using tools of the International Platform for Skills and Professions Development. All participants received a certificate of participation in the championship signed by the Chairman of the Working Group of the BRICS Business Council on Vocational Training, Technology Application, and Innovations.
The task for semifinalists traditionally consisted of two stages: wiring an electrical installation and configuring an automation system on programmable relays. In such a difficult task, not only skills but also tactics are important: contestants needed to wisely distribute strength and time, not forgetting about safety regulations.
The business program included a plenary session "Career Trajectory of an Electrician". It was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Samara Region, Samara State Technical University, the enterprise "Electroshchit Samara", as well as specialists from the Employment Service and IEK GROUP employees. The parties discussed the development of an electrician's career, the necessity of different educational levels in the profession, employment statistics, and social programs allowing a specialist to start a career at regional enterprises.
At the Samara semifinal, we first tested a useful and engaging forum format for practicing electrical installers — "Roasting" of metal enclosures. Through interesting and inconvenient questions about pressing issues, we tested the product manager's resilience to objections and also tested the novelty — TITAN 5 enclosures for durability.
In the meantime, fans also had a good time and actively participated in electrical installation competitions and master classes. Experienced masters enthusiastically assembled complex electrical circuits, while schoolchildren curiously examined electrical equipment and got acquainted with the world of electrical installation.
