Modern domestic software products for industrial enterprises are in no way inferior to foreign analogues. This was discussed by Vladimir Olkhov, Head of the Strategic Business Unit "Automation" at IEK GROUP, in an interview with "Rossiyskaya Gazeta".
Active development of Russian automation platforms began about eight years ago. Since then, the country's largest companies have implemented large-scale testing programs for such software and optimized it for their tasks.
—After the departure of Western vendors, the operation of a significant part of equipment in Russia was under threat,— says Vladimir Olkhov. —But domestic developers accepted this challenge and found solutions for complex tasks. Combining their efforts not only allowed releasing effective and in-demand digital products to the market but also supported the general state direction towards achieving technological sovereignty. In this context, the implementation of the import substitution program for both industrial software and means for developing these software products is progressing successfully.
