IEK GROUP presented the specification of the International Competency Standard "Electrical Installation" at a project-analytical session with representatives of leading technical universities of the Russian Federation. Director of the Institute of Electrical Engineering and Electrification of MPEI Mikhail Pogrebissky noted that the standard meets modern requirements and demonstrates a comprehensive approach to the profession of electrical installer.
The new standard was developed by Russian specialists under the moderation of IEK GROUP based on the International Digital Platform for Skills and Professions Development, created by the Order of the President of the Russian Federation dated August 25, 2022 No. Pr-1496. On the initiative of IEK GROUP, special attention in the specification is given to modern competencies of an electrical installer: the automation block and work with digital technologies, including artificial intelligence, is significantly expanded.
"In the new standard, we sought to reflect the current understanding of the electrical installer profession, which is not limited to equipment installation," notes IEK GROUP HR Director Natalia Belskaya. "A modern specialist must possess programming skills, be able to work with automation systems and human-machine interface."
Last year, the standard was first applied at the International Championship of High-Tech Professions "Hitech". Teams of the largest industrial corporations of Russia, as well as representatives of Iran, China, and Belarus participated. Contestants and experts highly appreciated the new approach to the "Electrical Installation" competency.
In 2024, the standard will be updated and tested: an international project-analytical session will be held in spring, and educational intensives will be organized. In June, IEK GROUP will organize competitions in the "Electrical Installation" competency according to the new standard at the BRICS FutureSkills Challenge 2024 Championship.
