Tyumen hosted the interregional semifinal of the IEK Electricians Championship for the first time — and the number of those wishing to participate was off the charts. Over 730 electricians from 21 Russian regions tried their hand in the qualifying round, but only 15 professionals could meet at the site of the Tyumen College of Technical and Social Technologies.
Traditionally, contestants had to demonstrate their programming and automation skills, then assemble and wire an electrical installation, and mount electrical wiring. Quality of work and compliance with safety regulations were assessed.
"The selection for the Tyumen semifinal was the largest in Russia, with competition exceeding 48 people per place. Tyumen has one of the strongest schools in the country; they managed to create a large team of professionals," shared Peter Nekrasov, Head of the Department for Work with Expert Community and Educational Institutions of IEK GROUP. "Modern electrical installation requires not only knowledge of electrical engineering but also the ability to work with software and organize industrial automation systems. Semifinal participants in Tyumen demonstrated a high level of training."
Championship guests couldn't resist and also took tools in hand. At IEK master classes, they learned to mount ARMAT modular equipment in TITAN and TEKFOR enclosures, connected BRITE and TORS switches and sockets.
The new "Roast" format attracted practicing electricians who used the opportunity to ask questions directly to the manufacturer. In Tyumen, we "roasted" IEK electrical installation tools and plastic enclosures. We will definitely consider all participants' wishes when improving our products.
But who will go from Tyumen to Kazan for the IEK Electricians Championship final?
