IEK GROUP acted as a partner of the Open Tournament in Russian Bench Press in Podolsk. The competitions were dedicated to Defender of the Fatherland Day. Several dozen amateur athletes participated.
Russian bench press is a relatively young discipline that is nevertheless already quite popular. Athletes' interest in this sport is understandable. No special equipment is required for competitions; according to the rules of the Russian Bench Press Federation, anyone can participate, regardless of age.
The athlete's task in Russian bench press is to lift (press) the barbell the maximum number of times while lying on a bench. Winners are determined by the "coefficient of athleticism formula": the weight of the barbell is multiplied by the number of repetitions and divided by the athlete's own weight. Whoever gets more points according to this formula becomes the winner in their category.
IEK GROUP, as a socially responsible business, advocates for the development and popularization of sports. The company cooperates with the Federation of Cross-Country Skiing of Tuva and the Federation of Greco-Roman Wrestling of Podolsk. Now this list has been supplemented by the Russian Bench Press Federation.
"Our company advocates for promoting a healthy lifestyle and supports various sports initiatives," says Dmitry Dryuma, Head of the Business Unit "Power Distribution Systems" at IEK GROUP. "We provide equipment and resources for holding competitions, attracting as many athletes as possible to participate."
