IEK GROUP specialists at a conference on oil and gas extraction issues presented modern BIM design tools in demand by this industry.
In Ufa, under the auspices of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Bashkortostan and the scientific institute "RN-BashNIPIneft", the scientific-technical conference "Innovative Technologies in Hydrocarbon Extraction" was held. It was dedicated to key issues of oil and gas extraction — from exploration and prospecting to field development design. The large-scale event gathered over 700 leading industry representatives and scientists from different cities of Russia.
IEK GROUP experts told the audience about the database of IEK metal cable support systems for Model Studio CS. This software is intended for quick and convenient design of facilities, including in the oil and gas industry.
The developers made the database as complete as possible and improved the user experience. The result ― compared to existing analogues, it has a significantly larger number of cable sections (97) and mini-catalogs (77) with a thoughtful structure. Mini-catalogs contain ready-made sets of straight and shaped tray sections with given parameters; cable sections offer typical tray route solutions recommended by the manufacturer.
Another distinctive feature of the IEK database, facilitating design, is hierarchical element lists, simplifying their selection according to required parameters.
"IEK GROUP equipment is successfully used at oil and gas industry enterprises, for which independence from Western suppliers is critically important. At the same time, we strive not just to supply equipment to clients but to offer comprehensive solutions that will help them achieve business goals faster and with lower costs," ― says Artem Maymor, Deputy General Director of IEK GROUP for Commercial Affairs and Business Development. ― "These include the presented database of IEK metal cable support systems. It meets the needs of the oil and gas industry in designing systems: allows considering hazardous areas, complex cable tray profiles, extended structures."
