'Kontaktor' Plant: From Wartime to Modern Technologies
The Ulyanovsk "Kontaktor" plant, which recently became part of IEK GROUP, has been producing reliable power equipment for over 80 years. Its history began during the Great Patriotic War with the production of items for the front.
"Kontaktor" was created in 1941 on the basis of an electrical apparatus workshop evacuated from the Kharkiv Electromechanical Plant to Ulyanovsk. The plant produced sights for 82-mm mortars, as well as components for tanks and the legendary "Katyusha" rocket launchers. Simultaneously, the enterprise manufactured products for the chemical and fuel industries, metallurgy and energy, machine building and machine tool building.
After the war ended, the enterprise returned to peaceful tracks and focused on the production of circuit breakers.
